The
topography in my repoussé
work (hammered relief from a single sheet of metal) is the
aesthetic result of pushing the technique farther and higher.
Ever obsessed with pyramidal shapes, in the late 1990's
I began experimenting with creating relief shapes on top
of the relief, something seemingly few artists have attempted.
When asked which is my favorite technique, I usually reply
that it's whatever technique I'm working in at the time,
but I must admit there is really nothing more satisfying
than hammering out these surfaces.
