All That Glitters is Gold

Working with gold does not have to be intimidating or prohibitively expensive. In this 2 day workshop students will learn goldsmithing techniques designed to make a small amount of gold go a long way, including alloying different colors of gold and milling wire, making gold bezels, making bi-metal (gold sheet fused to silver sheet), and kum boo (the ancient Korean technique of fused gold foil on larger works of silver). The class will be paced to insure adequate time for students to watch demonstrations and to make sample pieces of each technique. This is a course designed for students at the intermediate level through to professionals.
